What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We offer a professional, user friendly on-line business offering the highest levels of security in a confidential manner.

We are committed to preserving your privacy and maintaining a secure environment when you shop on-line with us.

We do not have access to any of your credit card details nor are they retained by us in any form. We are notified by Stripe when your card payment has been processed.

We use Stripe for payment, analytics, and other business services. Stripe collects identifying information about the devices that connect to its services. Stripe uses this information to operate and improve the services it provides to us, including for fraud detection. ( Name, Date of Birth , Gender, Address, Email Address,  Phone or Mobile Number ) at no time do we collect your Credit/Debit card details.

When paying for your goods you will be transferred to our web store provider’s secure payment server, Stripe. Your connection to this server will be encrypted thus providing a completely secure environment for your transaction. Credit card details are never held in a clear text format.

A closed padlock icon on your browser signifies the secure connection is in place and the address in your browser’s address bar will begin https://.

We use Stripe to process all transactions. Stripe use the very latest security technology to ensure that your card details are completely secure when paying on our site.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website/facebook you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

All information we gather from our customers when setting up an account, or when contacting us through our Contact page ie. name, address, contact number or email is used solely as a way for us to communicate and process your orders efficiently. Occasionally we may use this information to send or inform you of special offers, sales or promotional products.  If you wish to opt-out of these communications please email us at [email protected].

Fish of the Month Competition :

To enter the Fish of the Month Competition you can send your pictures by email to [email protected] or by Messenger to our Facebook page.

By submitting your image, email address and information you are giving us permission to use it in our marketing materials, website, blog and Facebook pages. We may contact you with offers which are related to your fishing discipline. We will not pass your details to a third party or any other organisation. Your entry is still valid even if you do not wish to be added to the mailing list.

Please allow 3 working days for your picture to be posted on Facebook. Southside Angling reserve the right not to publish images that are deemed unsuitable or not of high enough quality. Screenshots and images with filters or other manipulation applied are not acceptable, where possible please only send originals.

Competition Rules are found on all fish of the month album descriptions.
